Howard Williams/Daniels – a reputation for crime

A crooked South Wales ‘property expert’ exposed by The Eye as a conman and drug dealer who had his legs broken when one deal soured, possesses a string of jail convictions, and abused us on social media after a trail for this piece in which he was not named, is now using ‘reputation marketing’ with a specialist company trying to remove our ‘negative’ stories about him from the internet, we can exclusively reveal.

Howard Williams changed his name to James Daniels, moved to Spain, and a website service he uses helps businesses ensure maximum online presence.

Obstacles for Williams/Daniels such as jail

The website proclaims it is a:  “… reputation marketing service that assists small business owners in maximizing online visibility to keep first page Google results positive”.

Williams/Daniels adds:  “I do believe life is what you make it, I have had obstacles in life like many of us have, but this never held me back, I just became stronger”.

Williams/Daniels is trying to get rid of us

On another website a James D wrote: When I google James daniels spain or James Daniels property or James Daniels murcia a load of website links appear for the-eye.wales which are negative reviews and not true (The Eye – nothing is untrue). How do I get rid of these an(d) how much does it cost? Also how long does it take?”.

Williams/Daniels, originally from Cardiff but who lived with his parents in Treharris, has faced many obstacles in his life – such as dealing in illegal drugs and serving time in jail after fleecing countless innocent people.

A conman talks about his property ‘expertise’ on YouTube

Over 10 years his jail sentences have totalled four years four months, involving 25 counts of deception, and he has been made bankrupt three times.

On one property website, the anger of an individual is clear:  “He (Williams/Daniels) makes you pay circa £10k deposit and then disappears into the sunset”.

Williams/Daniels also said he performed at expensive property ‘seminars’ in upmarket hotels or golf clubs around South Wales where customers were duped once again.

Williams/Daniels ‘sold’ or ‘rented out’ luxury villas but disappeared with the deposits

For £299 potential clients were tempted with a “Special Offer February Deal – Sourcing and rent to rent training weekend”.

The ‘offer’ was removed from Williams/Daniels’ Facebook site, where he was known as ‘The Shoes’, soon afterwards, and when The Eye contacted the golf club, officials had no record of it taking place.

At one property event in the South of England The Eye were told that an investor had lost £30,000 with Williams/Daniels.

He has ‘knocked’ many people by not paying his bills.

We have spoken to some who are owed thousands of pounds by Williams/Daniels.

Williams/Daniels owes people thousands of pounds

The Eye have reported that his own father, Bill, described his son as a “complete crook”, how he was called by the police to Clifton suspension bridge where Williams/Daniels was threatening to commit suicide, and how he spent part of a Christmas day outside the walls of Cardiff jail to be near his son inside.

Bill Williams, who ran a sofa business in South Wales, believes his son stole about £250,000 from him in cash and stock.

Williams/Daniels’ former business partner, Sam McManus, has admitted to us he was fooled by him and that he was a ‘sick man’.

Sam McManus/Georgeson – another victim of Williams/Daniels’ ‘greed’

Mr McManus (otherwise known as ‘Georgeson’) explained to us how he was conned along with everyone else.

He told The Eye:  He (Williams/Daniels) has fooled many people and I can only be grateful that there are good investigative journalists like you guys who expose greedy people like him.

“It is embarrassing to admit that I am yet another victim of his greed”.

Williams/Daniels was also in charge of evenings at the ‘Discoteca CopyRight Roldan’ in Spain, but new adverts for it were removed after our earlier reports about him on The Eye.

When the dancing had to stop at Williams/Daniels’ disco in Spain

The discotheque’s Facebook page has not had a post since February 20 at 7.41am – just after we published disclosures about the man who ran it.

Once his disco started advertising for staff on October 1, and opened on October 21, events, mainly at the weekend, were publicised extensively in advance.

After the dance nights there took place, the page was often full of posts of photographs from them.

Events at Williams/Daniels’ disco were well-publicised before The Eye’s disclosures

But from February 20 there have been no posts – and the dance nights were shut down completely following revelations by The Eye.

Our stories about Williams/Daniels have prompted a huge reaction and been the subject of our satirical writer Edwin Phillips.

The following angry comment was posted on our Facebook page by someone describing himself as Howard Williams, with a profile picture of a sunny beach and a man with a large stomach: “You write total lies about people, bully to the point of harassment and suicide, and will not answer a direct email (The Eye has had none from a Howard Williams)? This is not journalism this is a mixture of Phil Parry (The ex journalist) and (others) you are pure scum!!!!! Let it be publicly known that The Eye does NOT care about people it just lies to make fictitious stories up. BULLYING, LIES, MENTAL HEALTH ABUSE TO NAME BUT A FEW!!!!!”.

Williams/Daniels worked with a man jailed after growing cannabis

Soon afterwards, came another from a different person which was less insulting but bore striking similarities with the earlier one.

Also on our Facebook page this person wrote:  “Quick question I have contacted you before (no contact has been made with this individual) and had no reply… it was a question of where to send info for a possible story but now I’ve read all your articles and you seem to be harassing people not reporting? your post today refers to targets not story’s (sic) so are you hate campaigners/reporters or journalists? confused”.

Our trail on social media prompted a tirade of abuse but had not named Williams/Daniels

Two days ago, after our trail for this story was placed on social media, The Eye were subject to a furious attack by Williams/Daniels and his supporters which included a lengthy abusive tirade.

The same message was also sent to our Editor’s son and other members of his family, as well as to friends.

Our publisher was contacted by phone.

Intriguingly The Eye had not mentioned Williams/Daniels in the trail but only referred to a ‘South Wales conman’.

Williams/Daniels accused us of saying he was a drug-user

Yet it seems he had identified himself as such.

This is part of one of his attacks on us: I am have contacted you (sic) numerous times before asking why you consistently, stalk, bully and harass me? … You so far have asked the following for comments (The Eye have never asked for comments):
Thief
Abuser (The Eye have never said Williams/Daniels is an abuser).
Liar
Sex Offender (The Eye have never said Williams/Daniels is a sex offender).
Drug user (The Eye have never said Williams/Daniels is a drug-user, just that he has dealt in illegal drugs).

This is another of the outbursts from Williams/Daniels on Mr Parry’s Facebook page:  Well for two years you have bullied me knowing I have bi-polar to the point I have attempted to take my own life, You obviously have no care for other people, you just lie lie lie….”

Williams/Daniels is used to Cardiff jail

His wife Lisa Williams has also bombarded The Eye and our Editor Phil Parry, with insulting messages on Facebook.

Among them was this response to a picture of Mr Parry:  The face of a real life bully… don’t you look so proud too awww”.

Plainly the present exposure by The Eye is almost as painful as the past of Williams/Daniels when he had his legs broken after a drug deal went badly wrong.

A partner of Williams/Daniels’ was jailed at Swansea Crown Court

We have also disclosed how formerly he had teamed up with another ex-criminal, who had been jailed for drug offences, to start a ‘charity’.

Williams/Daniels launched the ‘Crisis Housing Charity’ and asked for donations from the public in a venture designed ostensibly to help ex-convicts find homes.

The ‘charity’ gave an address in Cardiff but does not now exist.

Request for help

It is obvious that our stories have ruffled feathers because on the Peopleperhour website a James D asks how to get rid of the pieces on the internet.

Presumably he will also ask how to ‘get rid’ of this story too.

Phil Parry ‘harassed’ a conman and drug dealer?

James D awarded a “clean up my reputation contract” and posted praise for a job done on July 27.

But the ‘reputation’ of Williams/Daniels could be difficult to clean up, after all the ‘negative’ reviews on The Eye.

He has accused The Eye and our Editor Phil Parry, of ‘bullying’ ‘stalking’ and ‘harassing’ a man with a mental illness, yet it is others who deserve sympathy.

Williams/Daniels – a reputation for crime secured

Attention shouid be focused on those whose lives have been ruined by the drug dealing of Williams/Daniels, and the many who have been tricked into giving him money for it never to be seen again.

One website he uses says:  “Securing your name on powerful high ranking websites helps stop more negative content from being posted”.

Yet uncomfortable truths about Williams/Daniels are not just negative.

They are facts.
